Who do we support?
-
Supporting children ages 2 years old and older, as well as their parents and caregivers, through developmentally appropriate and individualized therapy.
Parent/Caregiver Participation: For children ages 6 years old and younger, a parent or caregiver is required to be present for the entirety of the virtual counseling sessions. Parent and caregiver involvement may also be incorporated into treatment for older children when clinically appropriate.
Concerns Addressed: Child therapy may support children experiencing irritability, anger, anxiety, low self-esteem, sadness, grief, behavioral concerns at home or school, emotional dysregulation, life transitions and adjustments, sleep-related concerns, aggression, increased fears, and panic.
Therapeutic Approaches: Treatment is tailored to each child's developmental level, individual needs, and treatment goals. Therapeutic approaches may include play-based therapy, art therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), child-centered therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.
Developmentally Appropriate Care: Therapy with children often looks different from therapy with adults. Sessions may incorporate play, creativity, movement, conversation, and age-appropriate therapeutic activities to help children express emotions, develop coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, and navigate challenges.
-
Supporting adolescents ages 12 years old and older as they navigate the emotional, social, and developmental challenges that can arise during the teenage years.
Concerns Addressed: Teen therapy may support adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, peer and relationship concerns, low self-esteem, identity exploration, sadness, grief, behavioral concerns at home or school, emotional dysregulation, life transitions and adjustments, sleep-related concerns, aggression, increased fears and panic, and challenges with executive functioning and communication skills.
Therapeutic Approaches: Treatment is individualized to each adolescent's developmental stage, needs, and goals. Therapeutic approaches may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), client-centered therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.
Building Trust & Connection: Establishing a strong therapeutic relationship is an important part of working with adolescents. This can be especially important for teens who may not have chosen therapy for themselves or may initially feel hesitant about participating. Early sessions will focus on getting to know one another, creating a comfortable and nonjudgmental environment, and building trust and rapport before moving more deeply into treatment. As the therapeutic relationship develops, adolescents are encouraged to have an active role in identifying their goals and determining what they would like to work on in therapy.
Supporting Independence: Adolescence is an important period of developing independence, identity, emotional awareness, and self-advocacy. Therapy provides teens with a supportive space to explore their experiences, develop coping and communication skills, strengthen emotional regulation, and better understand themselves and their relationships.

At Unravel & Bloom Psychological Services, we support adults ages 18 to 60 years old who may be navigating personal, relational, emotional, or life-related challenges. Therapy is individualized to each person's experiences, needs, and goals, with an emphasis on creating a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment.
Concerns Addressed: Adult therapy may support individuals experiencing low self-esteem, work- and financial-related stress, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, sleep-related concerns, parenting challenges, parent-child relationship concerns, difficulty establishing boundaries, communication difficulties, executive functioning challenges, attention-related concerns, traumatic stress, grief, and postpartum mental health concerns.
Therapeutic Approaches: Treatment is tailored to each individual's needs and may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-focused interventions.
Collaborative & Individualized Care: Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Together, we will identify the concerns that brought you to therapy, explore patterns that may be contributing to current challenges, and develop practical strategies that align with your values and goals.
Building Skills for Meaningful Change: Therapy can provide a space to develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication and boundaries, navigate relationships and life transitions, and better understand yourself and your needs. The goal is to help you develop skills and insight that can support meaningful and lasting change beyond the therapy session.

In family therapy, the family as a whole is considered the client. Dr. Cote works with parent-child dyads and/or the entire family to support healthier relationships, communication, and emotional well-being. Family therapy focuses on understanding relationship patterns and helping family members develop skills to navigate challenges together.
Who Family Therapy Supports: Dr. Cote works with families who have children ages 2 to 17 years old. At this time, she does not offer adult-only family therapy.
Family Concerns Addressed: Family therapy may be helpful when families are experiencing communication difficulties, parent-child conflict, behavioral concerns, emotional dysregulation, challenges with boundaries, difficulty navigating life transitions or adjustments, and other relational concerns that impact the family as a whole.
Parent-Child & Family Sessions: Treatment may involve parent-child dyads, individual family members, or the entire family, depending on the family's needs and treatment goals. Sessions are designed to provide a supportive space for family members to better understand one another, express their needs, and work toward healthier patterns of interaction.
Therapeutic Approaches: Dr. Cote utilizes evidence-based approaches that are tailored to each family's unique needs. These may include Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Structural Family Therapy, behavioral therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Strengthening Family Relationships: Family therapy can help families improve communication, strengthen connection, develop effective problem-solving skills, establish healthy boundaries, and better understand each other's emotions and perspectives. The goal is to help families build stronger and more supportive relationships both inside and outside of the therapy setting.
